- The Santiago-Curitiba flight will operate starting March 30th, 2020, becoming the sixth LATAM destination in Brazil with direct connection from Chile.
- LATAM is the first airline to operate in this route.
In October, LATAM Airlines Group announced the operation of a new direct flight between Santiago and Curitiba (Brazil) starting March 30th, 2020. Tickets are already available at latam.com and other sales channels.
LATAM will be the first airline to operate this route, of benefit for tourists as well as corporate passengers. With this new flight, LATAM will offer a total of six direct routes between Brazil and Chile, including its flights from Santiago to Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Brasilia* (*starting October 15th) and its São Paulo hub, where it offers connections to 26 international destinations in South America, United States, Europe, Africa and Asia. Today, the company transports 16 thousand passengers daily between both countries.
“LATAM has the best and wider destination network in Latin America, and the non-stop Curitiba-Santiago flight is another sustainable and convenient option, saving time for tourists and corporate passengers who already travel between both cities”, said Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil.
The LA782 flight will take off from the Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 03.27 pm, landing in Curitiba at 7.40 pm, whereas the LA783 flight will return from the Curitiba’s Afonso Pena International Airport on the same days at 8.30 pm, arriving in Santiago at 11 pm (all local times).
With an approximate three-hours-and-a-half flight time, on the way there and also back, this new route will reduce the travel times between both cities in approximately three hours, as an alternative to connecting via São Paulo.
The new Curitiba-Santiago flight will be operated by an Airbus A320 airplane with capacity for 174 passengers in Economy class.
Connecting Concepción and the world
LATAM Airlines Peru also announced that it will move its first international flight between Concepción and Lima (Peru) forward to January 4th, 2020. The airline will operate three weekly flights between both cities, which tickets are already available via latam.com and other sales channels.
Through the LATAM connections center in Lima, the flight will offer Concepción and the Biobío Region better connectivity to the world with destinations such as: Miami, Orlando and Los Angeles in the United States; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Bogotá, Medellín, Cali and Cartagena de Indias in Colombia; and Cancun, Mexico City, Dominican Republic, San José de Costa Rica, La Habana and Montego Bay (Jamaica) in Central & North America and the Caribbean. LATAM Airlines Peru also offers flights to 18 local destinations in Peru including Cusco, Iquitos, Tacna and Trujillo.
LATAM Airlines Group offers the best connectivity from and to Concepción with non-stop flights to Antofagasta, Punta Arenas and eight other daily frequencies to Santiago, in a relationship that extends since 1941.
