In October, this year’s most important promotional action is soon to take place. Expedition Chile 2018, is a joint initiative between Fedetur, Latam Airlines Group and Sernatur. The event’s principal purpose is to attract travel industry decision makers from key tourist-emitting markets.
There will be wholesalers from 16 countries present this year. The mix of international assistants will vary. Emerging market representatives will be carefully mixed with a dose of representatives from markets that already sell a lot of Chile as a travel destination. Expedition Chile’s planning in phase in 2018 has applied a hand-picked approach that will ensure expansion in tourism figures from markets that have new inbound flights to Chile.
The itinerary will take place between Octobrer 4 – 11, 2018. During that time three strategic destinations will be explored: Santiago, Casablanca and Araucanía Andina. On October 11 the activity will end with a business round marketplace which we will talk about in more detail during our next edition of Turismo Chile News in September.
