Winter can be fun not only on a pair of skis, that is why Portillo offers a wide variety of activities to guarantee maximum fun to all its visitors.
Ski Portillo, the first ski resort in South America, is well-known for the good quality of its snow, its clear tracks and its privileged scenery. However, activities there go beyond skiing, with alternatives for all kinds of guests.
During July, Portillo combined two of its classical programs: Wine Week and Family Week. Between July 13th and 20th, wine-tasting sessions will take place with the participation of renowned national winemakers. While parents enjoy wine tasting, children can be involved in a variety of activities to continue the fun, such as laser paintball, magic shows, cooking classes and many more.
The Wine Fest will take place later in the season, between August 24th and 31st. There, different enologists will give talks to teach about the Chilean wine tasting and appreciation, and all Portillo guests are invited to participate.
August is also known for the famous Friends Week, between the 10th and 17th, where activities are focused on group of friends enjoying their stay to the maximum. Activities include yoga classes, bustling sunsets at the hotel pool, film festivals, and live music shows.
The famous Snowshoeing activity also takes place during that week: a snowshoe walk to the bank of the Inca Lake, where a cheese and wine tasting offer is waiting for the guests. The panoramic view is unbeatable, and you can enjoy a quiet moment amidst the mountains.
Fun every week
Besides those activities, the historical “Torchlight Parade” takes place in Portillo every Friday, when a group of ski instructors descends the Plateau run illuminating the mountainside under the attentive look of the hotel guests. This show is part of the Portillo traditions, as it has taken place since the resort early times.
A Portillo not-to-be-missed event is its welcome cocktail, hosted in the main living room every Sunday. This place becomes the meeting point with the people that you will share with all week long. It is the time to reencounter faces you have met on previous years and meet the owner and general manager, who welcome our guests.
For yoga lovers, Portillo offers free lessons every day. Those classes are not only a relaxation opportunity to connect with the mountain; they also help you stretch your muscles after intense physical activity days. ;
All these activities take place during the ski resort’s winter season, which celebrates 70 years this year, and hopes to continue building more years of history together with its guests.
